Prada
The history of the Prada fashion house began in 1913, when the brothers Mario and Martino Prada opened their first leather bag store in the Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele II (see photo above), then the newest and biggest department store in Milan. Despite the fact that Mario Prada did not consider women capable of doing real business, Prada rose to the forefront of world fashion in the 1990s thanks to his granddaughter, Miuccia Prada. It took her and her husband ten years to do this, starting in 1978.
After the release of the first Prada Pret-a-porter women's collection in 1988 (lower waist, narrow straps, basic colors), the brand's popularity grew steadily and rapidly, along with the emergence of new boutiques and laudatory articles in glossy magazines. And so the devil started wearing Prada...
